RULE 1
Life is not fair - get used to it.

(인생은 불공평합니다 그것에 익숙해 지도록 하세요)

RULE 2
The world won't care about your selfesteem. The world
will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel
good about yourself.
(세상은 당신의 자부심 따위를 상관하지않습니다. 세상은 여러분들이 스스로 만족스럽다고 느끼기 전에 무엇인가를 성취할 것을 기대할 것입니다).

RULE 3
You will NOT make 40 thousand dollars a year right out
of high school. You won't be a vice president with
car phone, until you earn both.
(당신은 '절대' 1년에 40000 (약3900 만원) 달러를 고등학교만 졸업해서 벌순없을것입니다. 당신은

카폰 (자동차 에서 사용하는 무선 전화기) 을 같고있는 부사장이 될수없습니다 당신이 핸드폰과 자동차를 자기돈으로 벌어살때까지요)

RULE 4
If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a
boss. He doesn't have tenure.
(학교 선생님이 까다롭다고 생각되거든 직장 상사를 만날때가지 기다려보세요 진정한 까다로움이 뭔지 알게될것입니다)

RULE 5
Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your
grandparents had a different word for burger flipping
they
called it Opportunity.
(버거 뒤집는건 수치스러운일이 아닙니다 당신의 할아버지 할머니는 버거 뒤집는걸 '기회' 라고 불렀습니다)

RULE 6
If you mess up,it's not your parents' fault, so don't
whine about your mistakes, learn from them.
(만약 당신이 뭔가 잘못했다면 그건 당신의 부모님 잘못이아닙니다 그러니까 그거같고 칭얼거리지말고 그것으로부터 배워보새요)

RULE 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you are. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

(당신이 태어나기 전까진 부모님이 지금처럼 저렇게 따분한사람들이 아니였습니다. 그분들이 이렇된건 다 여러분의 청구서 납부하고 옷세탁하고 여러분이 얼마나 스스로를 근사하게 생각하는것에 대해 듣느라 저렇게 된겁니다 그러니까 부모님 세대의 기생충(획일성) 들로부터 소중한 열대우림(다양성)을 지키기저넹 당신의 방에있는 벽장부터 정리하는게 어떨까요(마음의 문을 먼저 열어라).

RULE 8
Your school may have done away with winners and losers,
but life has not. In some schools they have abolished
failing grades and they'll give you as many times as
you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the
slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.
(당신의 학교는 승자와 패배자를 뚜렷하게 가리지않습니다 그러나 삶은틀립니다 어떤 학교에선 낙제점수 제도를 폐하고 당신이 맞는답을 찾을때까지 무한의 시간을줍니다. 그러나 이건 현실세계와 닮은점이 하나도없습니다)

RULE 9
Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get
summers off and very few employers are interested in
helping you find yourself. Do that on your own time.
(인생은 학기로 나뉘어있지않습니다. 여름방학이란건 존제도 하지않으며 아주 극소수의 고용주만 당신의 시간을 갖는대 관심있습니다. 그건 근무끝나고 스스로 하세요)  

RULE 10
Television is NOT real life. In real life people
actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.
(텔레비전은 현실이 아닙니다. 현실에선 사람들은 커피산뒤 거기서 다마실때까지 죽치고있지않고 산뒤 바로 일하러갑니다)

RULE 11
Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

(Nerd(세상물정모르고 공부만하는 수상한놈들) 에게 잘대해주도록하세요. 언잰간 그들을 위해 일하게 될 확률이 괭장히높답니다)
